I need help understanding what is going on here. I think my friend has a problem such as hypochondria. She had a lung problem 20 years ago that was cured, and then a pulmonary embolism 3 years ago that the doctors say is all well now too. She complains from day to night. She is always making comments that her hands are swollen (they are not) she can't breathe (her pulse o2 is fine) and it is one body complaint after another. She carries a large sachel with all her various pills in it. She takes pills all day long. She went to the doctor and they did a test for Rheumatoid Arthritis and it has been negative twice now. SO, she claims they are missing something and that it is probably a rare form that does not show up. If you mention that you are having a bad day, she is having one too but WORSE. An example: She will ask are you taking any prednisone for your lung inflammation? I could say, yes, 10 mg, she will then say, Oh! Im on 20 mg!" Whatever you have, she has that and two other things that are a lot worse. She needed a job, and I got her one in my office. This is when all this started to be obvious to me. She is driving me and my boss crazy. If she does not stop, she will end up losing the job. She also wears wrinkled clothes to work and her hair is a mess. 2 toned and tried. She does not keep it clean and just clips it to the top of her head.

Help me figure out what is going on here...please.
