Hi!

I'm new and have been dealing with health anxiety for as long as I can remember. I guess this post is more for the ladies...

A quick back story: I've had problems with my menstrual cycle for quite some time now. I tend to spot anywhere form a few days to a week before my period and this has been going on for two and a half years. Any symptoms that are health related normally send me into a tail spin and this one does the exact same thing! I was put on a high dose bcp for about nine months which seemed to help as I didn't have any spotting at all. Anyhow, I had some really bad side effects from bcp so I went off them. Needless to say, I'm back to square one...

Now, I'm reeeeally anxious because tomorrow morning I have to go for my yearly gyno visit. This is probably one of the biggest things I fear all year and is the most anxiety producing thing I can do to myself. I don't know how to stay calm. I get SO jittery on the way there, while waiting in the waiting room and even worse-sitting in the doctors office for what feels like hours waiting for my doc to show up. I'm always really afraid that they're going to say something scary to me or give me awful news.

Does anyone have any tricks for calming yourself down? Or words of comfort that might help?
